About Mchanga Mdogo Primary School

 

Mchanga Mdogo Primary School is the government owned school located at Mchanga Mdogo village, Wete District, North Pemba Region, Zanzibar – Tanzania.

Our Vision

We endeavor to improve the learning environment, and build the capacity for beneficiaries to electronically learning methods. Our aim is to offer opportunities of learning by using technological infrastructures such as e-learning platforms etc and become a point of contact for all people wanting to know more about the opportunity of the technology. We also aim to make this project as a community centre and a focal point for our youth, as well as support student activities for teaching, exploring the world and use the technology effectively.

As we all know, that most of the users connected to the internet NOW days, use it in NEGATIVELY by watching pornography, dating, spreading rumors & gossip, committing crimes etc.

  • We want to build the capacity for beneficiaries concerning the use of ICT.
  • We want to improve the learning environment.
  • We want to shape our society and promote our culture. 
  • We want to protect our young kids by creating safe-learning environment.
  • We want to create an INTERNET SAFE-SURFING environment
  • We want to teach the community about POSITIVE-OPPORTUNITY provided the use of Technology. 

Justifications:

 

  • During the pandemic (COVID-19), many schools were shutdown, some teachers from private school lost their jobs, student stayed at home doing nothing.

 

  • Most of teenagers/under 18 kids and even adults surfing the internet by watching pornography, listening music, playing games, betting and gambling etc. As a results, many cases reported in our societies such as Sexual harassment, pregnancy for under 18s etc.

 

 

  • The increasing of internet users in Tanzania; according to DataReportal shows:
  • There were 15.15 million internet users in Tanzania in January 2021.
  • The number of internet users in Tanzania increased by 435 thousand (+3.0%) between 2020 and 2021.
  • Internet penetration in Tanzania stood at 25.0% in January 2021.

  • There is no going back; Internet has started reshaping education, the traditional classroom has to be transformed.

 

  • Many universities/colleges/Schools may not survive because Education will not be the same in the next decade.

 

Academic learning must seek out new and innovative ways to attract, retain & impact learners in the knowledge age.
